The Family Studies Research Center, in the Department of Psychiatry at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine, conducts genetic research to better understand how certain traits and psychiatric disorders may run in families. With sites in Manhattan at Mount Sinai, in the Bronx at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Puerto Rico, and in Costa Rica, we offer a variety of research programs exploring familial trends in autism, aging, and schizophrenia. Our multi-disciplinary approach uses a combination of personal interviews, observational assessments, and molecular and epidemiological genetic techniques to examine and develop new theories. For more information, email us at familystudies@mssm.edu or call 718-367-5727 and a member of our staff will get back to you as soon as possible.
